Hauptfach Karl Stauffen was a German officer who succeeded Hauptfach Fritz Diedrich as commander of the first brigade in Oberst Wilhelm von Lieder's 3rd Armored Heer Division. He was instrumental in using the intelligence given by the Gestapo double agent, Marque Logeaux in stopping Jean-Claude Marsalles and other French partisans from assassinating Adolf Hitler.
