Happy Hour Films was a film and sketch comedy troupe founded in 2006 by David Hilbun and Seth Dickerson. The group was extremely prolific from 2007-2009. Happy Hour officially went on hiatus in the summer of 2010 after a long dry period. The group briefly reunited in the summer of 2013, but this reunion proved short-lived, due to Dickerson's commitment to other projects and other members' general disinterest. While the group was effectively inactive from as early as August of 2013, the technical disbandment of the group went into effect on March 16, 2014, when David Hilbun made official the breakup on Happy Hour's Facebook page in a long and heartfelt press release. To date, Hilbun has continued to pursue filmmaking, although whether future films will be released under the Happy Hour name, as another film group, or as his own individual work is uncertain, as is the future of the group.

The roots of Happy Hour can be traced back to 2005, when Hilbun, Dickerson, and LaCombe first worked together on Stranded in Time, a class project for their Gifted and Talented curriculum. The three became friends and laid the groundwork for a partnership which would carry over into high school, which would be the site of their most prolific output.

In his freshman year at Carencro High School, Hilbun created an amateur video game called "Ultra Mario 2007" which recieved a great deal of attention from his classmates. This, in addition to a 3-D animated short adaptation of Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game" for a class project, quickly put Hilbun at the forefront of the media scene at Carencro.
